BOM QUILT 2016

Quilt is finished. This was a fun quilt to make. I realised that when I had the second part of the quilt done I reversed it, but Im happy with it, and I think it looks pretty good that way. I wanted to challenge myself to change the applique. All machine appliqued. and each flower has been detail embroidered on the machine free motion of course. The rest is according to the pattern. Now it is finally sandwiched together ready for me to quilt it. Yes I will be quilting it myself. Second pic shows that I have started with stitching in the ditch and the centre has been quilted with little flowers. I had a little trouble getting my swing to work on the flowers. but Im going to keep it that way, as it has taught me a lesson or two on how to manage a big quilt. So it can be done on a little 6in throat of the machine. give it a go, it will be another skill up your sleeve. Pic 3 shows the quilt is finished, pic 4 shows that it is under my machine. It is hard to tell if the quilt is quilted, but I assure you it is. Please look at the applique bit in pic 3 and you can tell it is quilted. the rest is hard to see unless it is enlarged. Please dont let this quilt daunt you, take the plunge even if you are a good piecer or applique person, you will learn something for sure.
