BOM Cleopatra's Puzzle Block

What are you most proud of? Another block that I am NOT proud of ...again, insufficient contrast for the block design to shine. Again, maybe tomorrow, I will remake it, not today...today I am crabby...LOL. Perfectly executed, but insufficient contrast for a crisp look What advice would you give someone starting this project? this block looks best with crisp contrast...just my opinion.

Q&A with Applekrisp

MsBugZ asked:
WOW What awesome colors! I like it!
Applekrisp answered:
I love the colors, but I am afraid the block design is kind of lost...
Darns asked:
I think you're right, applekrisp - not enough contrast but how can you not just love the look anyway
Applekrisp answered:
Yeah, you're right, I love the colors...next time, more contrast...I know better.
Needlecat asked:
Again, I think it's simply lovely..just different from what you expected. I saw your whole collection of beautiful blocks and I think these lower contrast blocks are going to be perfect in your finished project. I can't wait to see it. Hope mine is half as gorgeous!
Applekrisp answered:
Thanks Needlecat, I think they will work with the grand scheme of the quilt, they just don't quite show off the pretty design element in the block. Next time.
qulady asked:
i still like it, lay it out on a contrast solid and see how it looks before you go and make another one- i think we are all perfectionists in a way- thanks for sharing even a block you're not crazy about!
Applekrisp answered:
I know we are coming up to the sashing portion in a couple months and I am kind of at a loss here about what to use. I don't want to diminish the blocks, I want them to stand out, each on their own. I'm thinking a nice Kona solid...I'll have to audition colors. Always open to suggestions!!!
patz in suffolk asked:
I think it's great!
Applekrisp answered:
Thank you Pat!!!
