Q&A with scol409

Davesmom asked:
I love the colors you chose. Are you going to sew them together as is or have sagging around them? I want to see the finished quilt!! Great job so far.
scol409 answered:
i am going to use sashing between the blocks but a much darker brown (I have a paisley in mind but can't find the exact one yet( to give the brown .quilt some color. I did the brown one in neutrals to go in my living room. The teal/turquoise/blue quilt I did just because those are my favorite colors and I have in mind a small dark print of blue and turquoises to blend it all in. Saw one today but wasn't quite sure. The search is part of the fun!
Pam NZ asked:
Goodness me you've made TWO sets!!! Twice the strife lol... fun seeing them all together now tho eh? LOVE your blues... but then you know I'm a little bit biased... the browns are very striking too, and I'm not a brown fan... you may have just converted me! Can't see any bad Karma in your quilts tho... perhaps your seam ripper put in a good word for you? I've been very intimate with mine too LOL! Awesome blocks, can't wait to see them finished... no pressure tho ;-)
scol409 answered:
I am excited because I found a perfect fabric to sash the blues with..... it's blue/teal/turquoise small print little tiny mosaic. It pulls all the different fabrics together without overwhelming them. Then I am making a border of the background white around the entire quilt and finishing with a slightly larger dark blue/teal batik for the final border. Haven't decided on a back yet though!
meg55 asked:
Love your color schemes.
scol409 answered:
Thanks! I was afraid the brown one would be 'boring' so I think my sashing will bring out the block design. i am hoping!
