Q&A with ChristmasEv

alice.beer15977 asked:
Your project is beautiful. Did you just come up with a picture of how you wanted the block in it's finished state to be or do you design as you go? Maybe both. I am inspired by all the desingers in this group. I can put blocks or quilts together when I follow someone else's dream but it is really hard to come up with a picture in my mind. Do far I have not started from scratch. I have done a few so maybe it will come eventually. I don't think of myself as an artist but I am happy to follow, at least partially, the eye for the quilt as portrayed in magazines, etc.
ChristmasEv answered:
Hi! Sorry to taken so long to reply. I have tried to figure out how it is done, and have finally done s o. Thank you for your kind words. This is the first time I am trying to put together a quilt using my own fabric choices. I don't even know if these fabrics were meant to go together, as they were not purchased in a fabric store! I know some are from the same line, and I do think that it will work! This is a new venture for me, but I am having fun with it. I'll keep posting the blocks as they are made (hope to get back to them soon! Happy new year to you!
Hazann asked:
I love this block and the materials used. How clever of you. ? Have you fussy cut a border print to get that pattern with the daisies
ChristmasEv answered:
No, the fabric was printed with one flower close to the square with the yellow flower. I cut that section out and flipped it to create the box of flowers surrounding the center block. It is the same fabric I used for the pink and blue block (looks like a ring and I cannot remember the name!). But it is the first block I made and it is here in my first post! Thank you for your kind words.
