Block 4

Project Description

What are you most proud of? Getting ithe FMQ to look fairly consistent. I didn't do any FMQ in the centre as I didn't want to quilt over the fairy. What advice would you give someone starting this project? Relax ... tense shoulders are exhausting!

What you will need

  • Cotton fabric
  • polyester thread and wadding.

Q&A with patz in suffolk

desna asked:
Pat your quilting is so impressive.... I really will have to try get some time to so this.
patz in suffolk answered:
It doesn't stand up to much close examination - I don't even seem to be able to quilt in the ditch properly! However, it's good practice.
shobi asked:
Are you quilting the blocks as you go?
patz in suffolk answered:
Yes - they're much easier for a novice like me to handle. It'll take longer to finish, but never mind.
K Lee 2Strings asked:
I hear you about the shoulders! The fairy could easily disappear under quilting. I think you were right in leaving her unquilted.
patz in suffolk answered:
I just did some "pebbling" on one of the blocks - groan! I'm a masseuse, but no one ever gives me a massage, and I could really do with one now!
marianna2011 asked:
Pat - I love this one too - have you thought about just outlining the fairy like in thread painting - go around her two or three times and she's really pop!
patz in suffolk answered:
That's a good idea, but I think it might be a bit too intricate for me at this moment in time! I might well go back and do that when I've had a bit more experience!
Caraline2 asked:
wondered what you were going to do with this one, just perfect. love it
patz in suffolk answered:
Thank you. I can't help but think it looks as though it's frowning!
