Project

Block 12

Project Description

What are you most proud of? I'm pleased with the way the curly bits (can't remember what Leah called them) on the slashing came out. I learnt from my disasters with the feathers, and drew the little snails first a few times, which got me into the rhythm of sewing them. As the fabric in the background is quite "busy" I decided not to do the quilting as suggested by Leah, but just did some echoing in triangles instead.

What you will need

  • Cotton fabric
  • cotton thread for piecing
  • polyester thread for quilting and polyester wadding.

Q&A with patz in suffolk

Darns asked:
You are doing so great on these blocks! Can't wait to see them all assembled!
patz in suffolk answered:
Thank you! Nor can I - but I think that's my failing - I'm in far too much of a hurry!
DeGramma asked:
Love your quilting, really made me sorry I didn't try it myself. Just sent mine out to the longarm quilter. Must practice, just signed up for Leah's class.
patz in suffolk answered:
But your quilt will be so beautiful! Do post a picture when you get it back, won't you?
Pam NZ asked:
Great decision to personalise it... love those swirls! Man you are motoring!!!
patz in suffolk answered:
The swirls look a bit like snails to me!
K Lee 2Strings asked:
I love making those in and out spirals! Yours are so nice.
patz in suffolk answered:
I quite liked doing those too - but only after I'd drawn them a few times on a bit of paper in order to get my head round them!
Caraline2 asked:
looking good
patz in suffolk answered:
Thanks ...
