Q&A with Dorothe

grannysj11375859 asked:
Love the pattern. Black and white is so great together and the yellow really makes it pop. Great job!
Dorothe answered:
thank you!
Thomasean asked:
I love this quilt!
Dorothe answered:
so do I!
danyell1716658917 asked:
How many different grey color fabrics are used and about how many yards of each?
Dorothe answered:
All my fabrics were black and white in many variations and several small bits of yellow. I used many smaller pieces from my stash and I only bought a few extra bits and the larger piece which I used for the border. I can't remember how much I bought as it is quite a few years ago that I made the quilt. I would suggest to get a variety of smaller pieces like 25 or 30cm ( 10 or 12 ") of different patterns and one bigger one of 1 meter (yard) for the border. Good luck!
gloriamar4777167 asked:
Is there a pattern for this with yardage needed or is this all your own idea.it sure is beautiful and my grandson would love it only in purple vs yellow. Gloria
Dorothe answered:
No pattern that I know of. I saw something similar and just worked out a size for the blocks that worked for me. I used a variety of black and white fabrics, some fat quarters and for others I bought half a meter. The only bigger piece I bought was for the border. Hope that helps! Good luck!
