Beyond Basic Machine Quilting

Project Description

What are you most proud of? I am proud that I did it. Even though the quilt did not turn out that good, there are lots of imperfections, I learned a great deal by going through the process, which I can apply to my next quilt or small quilts. However, I feel I need to do more practice before approaching another free motion quilting. What advice would you give someone starting this project? Practice, practice and practice!!!!!

What you will need

  • I chose a printed fabric
  • synthetic. I used large scraps of fabric I had
  • which I wanted to get rid of. The photo did not tun out very good
  • so it's hard to see the details of the quilt. Also
  • maybe the pattern on the fabric is a bit too much. Actually
  • the details are more visible when I see my quilt with the naked eye. For the border I used plain fabric
  • cotton. I have used Sulky threads.

So I Sew 2 asked:
Great job! I think you did awesome! I am finishing up a fm quilt for my daughter and it isn't nearly as good as yours! I've made her promise no one gets to see the back! The front thread matched enough that my imperfections don't show that much, but that back??? ICK!!! You have inspired me!!!!
josephine01 answered:
Thanks for your comment and for the encouragment. By the way, my back does not look good either. I am sure your daughter will love your quilt. My sister and brother in-law thought it was beautiful when I showed the quiilt to them, so it was a surprise to me. I am glad I have inspired you :)
