Baby Girl Quilt

Project Description

What are you most proud of? This is the most well constructed quilt I have made so far - I am particularly pleased with my quilting as this is only my third FMQ quilt. This is also the quickest quilt I have made - under 20 hours including design and shopping time for fabric. What advice would you give someone starting this project? Make a plan - proper planning of this quilt from materials to quilting design made the making of it quick and effortless - and I am really happy with result.

What you will need

  • cotton homespun
  • printed cotton
  • cotton batting
  • polyester thread

Thanks Eva

I cannot believe you did this so quickly! It is gorgeous. I think you have picked up the spirit of Craftsy by combining lessons learned to make something wonderful. I love it!!!!! Modern is not my thing, but I think I am being swayed by some of the beautiful things I've seen lately. Lucky Mabel and congrats to you

Thanks Surfside6 - I can't beleive I did it so quickly either. I have been fast at this simple sort of strip piecing for a while but I always got stuck on the quilting which used to take 3-4 times longer than the piecing. FM fillers vol 1 got me into FMQ - which is so fast i will never quilt with a walking foot again.
Strange asked:
Oh,that's beautiful. I love what you did with the back, too.
zinc6 answered:
Thanks Strange ... I actually like the back more - I am considering making myself a modern bed quilt using the back of this quilt as my inspiration.
