Baby Dresden Quilt

What you will need

  • A mix of sweet fabrics including the Delilah collection by Tanya Whelan for Free Spirit and Cotton Couture solids in Candlelight (yellow) and Bright White. The green border is a print from True Colors by Heather Bailey. I used the Quick Point Ruler to make the dotty prairie point binding. The back is Minky Dimple Dot in a butter yellow color.

Q&A with caribousmom

Meredith K asked:
This is so sweet!!! Love it, I've been wanting to take this class & this might have done me in! How is it working with minky on the back? Is it really shifty? The dots make all of the quilting you did so cute!
caribousmom answered:
Thanks, Meredith! Minky is surprisingly easy to work with - I pin about 3 inches between pins...and I did straight line quilting and had no problems with shifting. There is some stretch in Minky - so you just have to be careful about not pulling on the fabric when you layer your top/batting/backing.
Surfside6 asked:
I'm partial to Tayna's fabrics, too. But the red and white polka dots is to die for. Really sets off the quilt.
caribousmom answered:
Thanks so much! This was a really fun quilt to make :)
Joanna Figueroa asked:
I love this. Fabulous job. Makes me want to make this quilt again LOL!
caribousmom answered:
Thanks so much, Joanna! I'm so happy you love it! The pattern was so easy...and this was the first time I made Dresdens so I was super happy with the results :) I'm planning to make a larger one for myself! Thanks for the great class...it gave me courage to try this pattern and i know I'll be making it again and again!
