Aunty Jean's Quilt

What was your source for this quilting project? Online Photo or Website Name of website or photo Miss Kyra Link to website or photo www.mccallsquilting.com/mccallsquilting/issues/July_August_2013 What are you most proud of? This is just my 2nd completed quilt!!! I love the centre Dresden... I made it a double layered one and left the petals loose to give it a bit of a 3D effect. What advice would you give someone starting this project? If I can do it, so can you!

Q&A with Pam NZ

Meredith K asked:
Stunning!!! Congrats, this is spectacular & it's only your 2nd, WOW! She's going to LOVE it!! So you quilted the whole thing on your DSM?? Impressive!
Pam NZ answered:
Thank you Meredith! Yes all done on my DSM... oh to have a long arm tho... a distant dream LOL. To say Aunty Jean was gobsmacked is a bit of an understatement but oh boy what a thrill to see her face when she realised it was for her!
NanaJeanFL asked:
Fabulous! Outstanding work! GORGEOUS!!! This is so beautiful. Such a labor of love. Every detail is perfect and I'm sure it will be cherished for years to come.
Pam NZ answered:
Oh thanks heaps Jean... I was a bit of a tease, I let her have a good look at the front, then the back before showing her the label... I made her cry! She's in her eighties and has been very unwell so probably lucky I didn't give her a heart attack LOL! The look on her face will stay with me forever... just priceless!
Caraline2 asked:
oh wow, Pam, so this is why you have been silent lately, love it, I am in the process of getting mine finished, but hey yours is beautiful
Pam NZ answered:
Thanks Caraline, LOL yes this and health hasn't been the best. You've been quiet too... can't wait to see yours! I'm off to the Ham Craft & Quilt Show next week (ultra excited LOL)... after that I'm hoping life will settle down so we might get to meet up?
Darns asked:
Pam, this is fabulous! Your aunt must be so thrilled! Wonderful Dresdens! and the quilting! Oh, my, it's so perfect for the quilt!
Pam NZ answered:
Oh boy thanks Darns... yes Aunty is thrilled... also still in shock LOL. I knew I liked Dresdens when we made our first one for our 2012 BOM quilt... but now I could get addicted LOL!
Bagabon asked:
Oooooohhhhh my Gosh!!!! I could not say enough about this quilt...... And the hour into it, WOW!!!!
Pam NZ answered:
Thank you Bagabon... just fell in love with the pattern the first time I saw it... would never have attempted it tho, if it wasn't for the Craftsy community!
