Project

Art Decco Flower

What are you most proud of? I think it turned out wonderful. I struggled with the border. I searched the internet for Art Deco border designs, walked away from the project several times - it had to be perfect. I finally sat and looked at the fireplace and noticed the pattern in the cast iron surround. IT WAS THERE ALL THE TIME!!! I penciled it with grey lead and after having done the "Free Motion Course" had a go at the border. I am so happy that it remained true to the actual image. Although the free motion stitching is a bit rough!!! What advice would you give someone starting this project? Just go for it! I am so pleased that it turned out so well, it looks good over the bed and is just what the bedroom wall needed. If you are not sure - walk away for a couple of days. It is always better to give yourself time for that creativity inside you to shine!
