Aric's quilt

What was your source for this quilting project? Improvisational What are you most proud of? My nephew Aric is a special needs person. After graduating high school and getting a job, he was able to move out of his parent's house and into a group home. He needed a covering for his bed so I offered to make one for him. He adores his cousin Alex (my son), so I used Alex's old blue jeans to make a rag quilt for Aric's bed. He loved it! What advice would you give someone starting this project? Using all denim made the quilt too heavy, so I added flannel strips in-between the denim rows.

You Can Make This

Vicki Walker made Aric's quilt with:

  • I used my son's old blue jeans and an old flannel sheet cut into strips.

Q&A with Vicki Walker

KathyS55 asked:
Very nice! And a great idea to add the flannel rows - denim can be SO heavy! What a wonderful gift for your nephew!
