Aqua Stitch Sampler

What are you most proud of? I tried lots of different threads and stitches both hand and machine. I didn't get too hung up on matching colors and the result was nice. I decided I really like size 8 DMC perle cotton and didn't like size 5 DMC perle cotton. Good to know for future shopping expecditions. I was all set to finish this with black rattail binding when I remembered one of the yarns that I couched was a nice dark blue. I checked it and it was the perfect finish for this project. I didn't go with my first thought and the result was great. What advice would you give someone starting this project? This is fun improvisational process. The design develops as you go along and can change as you add the layers of stitching. Relax and don't plan to much. It's a great excuse to visit the yarn shop/emboridery shop and pick up all kinds of odd bits and pieces. Also a great way to use interesting stuff from your stash.
