Antique Hexies Quilt

Q&A with sewright2009

M E quilter asked:
How did you attach the yellow border to the hexigons?
sewright2009 answered:
I didn't. This is an antique quilt that my great aunt pieced back in the late 30s... the white hexagons were cut off to square up to add the first of 3 borders.
Quilt_Bee asked:
That looks amazing!! She had loads of talent! How nice that you can have this and keep her memory with you!--Danielle
sewright2009 answered:
Yes, so, so lucky to have it in my home! The work is unbelievable up close.
Nicky Williams asked:
Oh my gosh, what a splendid quilt this is! Its so bright and cheerful, it makes me smile :) Did you hand sew or machine sew the hexagons and how long did it take you to make? It a real credit to you!
sewright2009 answered:
Hi Nicky It is an antique made by my great Aunt in the late 30s. All hand pieced and hand quilted. It is a treasure.
