Q&A with Anita Grossman Solomon

ChristmasEv asked:
Anita, I love your class and your quilts. You are so smart!!! Your fabric combinations are beautiful...Can't wait to make an Anita's Arrowhead quilt!!!
Anita Grossman Solomon answered:
I learn new ways that fabric interacts every time I see stacks of fabric squares. It's never predictable for me.
Pam Sews asked:
Directions are genius - my 9 year old granddaughter made one and, because of starching, nailed ALL of the nesting seams. You make us look GOOD, Anita!
Anita Grossman Solomon answered:
You must be so pleased for her experience. I think we all remember the early work we've sewn. Such special lifelong memories.
Linda VanRisseghem asked:
Where do I get this pattern?
Anita Grossman Solomon answered:
The pattern is included in the Craftsy class, www.Craftsy.com/blockssimple AND the class includes a bonus: my 128 page eBook "Rotary Cutting Revolution." -Anita
selmaS asked:
HI Anita, I wanted to know is the arrowhead a strip quilt? I am making my first strip quilt with 5" blocks and I reversed every other row to get a really nice design, and it is being signed by family and friends as well....
Anita Grossman Solomon answered:
Dear Selma, I suspect your is a signature Rail Fence. It will surely be a treasure with the added sentiment. The Arrowhead isn't a strip quilt, mine has a unique construction method (really!) as does the Pineapple and two other blocks in the class.
crowmk1086243 asked:
Is this a scrappy quilt? or how many fat qtr needed?
Anita Grossman Solomon answered:
Each 9" unfinished block requires a pair of 8" squares cut from starched fabric. The class quilt of 81 blocks requires the equivalent of 41 fat (or long) quarters though I used 'scraps.'
