Amazon Star paper pieced quilt pattern

Project Description

What was your source for this quilting project? Online Photo or Website Name of website or photo Amazon Star Link to website or photo quiltworx.com What are you most proud of? Kimmy's instruction gave me the confidence to begin the quilting. I have been doing ruler work on occasions, but this top took hours and hours of it. I also did cross hatching, free motion ferns and loops. All in all it was on the frame for about 2 weeks. The fabrics are batiks, the backing is cotton sateen, and batting is wool. Threads are polyester 70 weight. What advice would you give someone starting this project? Starch all your fabrics as you cut and piece the sections. Don't pre cut all your pieces, I found I had some extra fabric cut. I would have changed some of the color choices it I had hand drawn some sections and colored them in with different color choices.

What you will need

  • Judy Neimeier Quiltworx pattern. Numerous batik fabrics
  • free motion longarm quilting.

This quilt is amazing. Was it all done with paper piecing?

Where can I get the pattern for this beautiful quilt? Was this taught through the classes at Craftsy and if so who was the teacher?
avidquilt1069018 answered:
the pattern is Amazon from www.quiltworx.com. This is not a Craftsy Class but there are shops that teach the Judy Neimeyer quilts from Quiltwors. Look on their website.

Yours turned out so pretty. I have the pattern and I am trying to decide on colors to use. Any tips for choosing colors.

Try to have good contrast so the individual point areas stand out. Quiltworx website has a new fabric line for this pattern now with different colors.
