Ali's quilt

Project Description

What are you most proud of? Ali wanted a piano key border which she had seen on another quilt that I had made. I wasn't sure how that would look on this quilt but was very pleased with the result. What advice would you give someone starting this project? Be sure to sew the piano key border to a strip of muslin or other material to keep it from stretching as you sew it to the quilt.

What you will need

  • I used fabric from Jo-Ann's
  • some leftover fabric from the curtains in her room and also some scraps
  • mostly the lighter colors
  • of other quilts that I had made.

I am a scrappy quilter...I use anything and everything in my quilts. The curtain fabric is the darkest of the

This is a very fun quilt. I like the result of using a variety of different sized triangles.
Ema answered:
Thank you. I am sorry I didn't have a pattern to share. My grand-daughter found a picture similar to it and I added the smaller triangles to it but I didn't have an actual pattern to work from. My daughter helped Ali pick out the pretty fabric colors. The piano key border pattern can be found on the internet for those who would like to copy that. I'm glad you liked it...Ali did as well.
