Alaska Landscape Quilt

Project Description

What are you most proud of? That I hand painted all of the fabric and used my silhouette cameo to cut out the trees and bears. I still need to add a boarder but I need to go to the North Pole to get some more fabric. ;) What advice would you give someone starting this project? Take your time and take many breaks and add your own personal touches.

What you will need

  • I hand painted white cotton fabric.

Hello Dear Creativcorner, I like your landscape quilt, you did a great job by coloring your fabric and it sounds very interessting to me how you could cut your fabric with a machine. Please if you will find time, it would be nice to hear what kind of machine cut own designes out on fabric. Thank you Again, very very nice work Greetings Carine
Acreativecorner answered:
Hello, thank you for your kind words. I have two machines. I have the silhouette cameo and the brother scan n cut. Out of the two I prefer the silhouette because of the easy computer program. However because it is hooked up to the computer my husband is always kicking me off so he can do homework. So the scan n cut gave me other options. I like the scanning feature because I can get exact placement and it is wireless. But the computer software is not user friendly compared to the silhouette. Both machines allow me to find clip art and make cut marks on fabric, paper, vinyl and so much more. Lastly if you have an embroidery machine there are files that will help you embroider some of the designs but that's a whole new learning curve for me. I wish you the best of luck. :) - Angela
