Project Description

What are you most proud of? I like using two different blocks in a quilt that create another design when they are placed next to each other. This block pattern is the same, it just used different combinations of fabric in the second block. It takes a bit of concentration and forethought to come up with prints that work the magic. What advice would you give someone starting this project? Making quilts today has been simplified so the end result looks a lot harder than one would think. Don't let the look fool you, give it a try and wow those non-quilters into thinking you are a wizard. Of course, keep the secret to yourself.

What you will need

  • Good ole cotton quilting fabric
  • about ten different prints
  • Warm and Natural batting

Q&A with Betsy0

HunaWoman asked:
I really enjoy looking at this quilt. The care you took to pick out just the right combination of colors and their placement is absolutely fabulous!!!
Betsy0 answered:
Why, Thank you so much. My Red Hat quilt posted earlier is the same pattern.
K Lee 2Strings asked:
I like how the sashing adds the illusion of another block. Very versatile pattern & pretty.
Betsy0 answered:
One of the reasons I love this pattern so much is that it makes you see things that aren't there. I did not use sashing, there are two blocks side by side with four borders. One of the photos shows the two blocks next to each other.

Hi Betsy0 - I just fell in love with this quilt and have finished making the quilt top! I was wondering if it would be ok with you if I mentioned you and this quilt on my blog and here on craftsy when I'm finished my work?

Hmm, I think I said thanks for your kind words. There are so many quilts to be made and so many patterns to be tried that I just have to keep on quilting. I think I enjoy making the tops most and that makes me a lot behind on the quilting part. (I have 8 waiting)
