Q&A with Joanna Strohn

Allie Aller asked:
Joanna, I love your story. To me, this is so much of what crazy quilting is all about: It is an internal journey, memores, emotions, thoughts, and hopes triggered by the treasured textile "bits"...set free by the quiet and improvisational stitching...the quilt and the inner voyage developing together. IOf course, it is about exploring and making new fun too! So glad you are ready for your next project too!
Joanna Strohn answered:
I entered this in the 2014 Tucson Quilters Guild show and asked for it to be judged. I received a Very Good (B) in all areas. The judges said the best feature was that the embellishments were well applied. Given that this is my first crazy quilting project, I was very pleased!
Claireb. asked:
This is really beautiful. I love the references to the past, using old friends to create something new! I have so many goodies from my mother and grandmother - this may be a wonderful way to use them. Thanks for sharing - you are really inspiring! Best, Claire
Joanna Strohn answered:
Thank you so much! I love the process and being able to use things I've inherited or collected over the years.
