Q&A with scol409

Bonnie Amundsen asked:
I love your color scheme - very calming!
scol409 answered:
Thanks.... the photos don't really show the color like in person. It's chocolate-y and warm !!! I can never get pictures to show how things really look!
NanaJeanFL asked:
I love both your quilts but must say this one really speaks to me! Your choice of background fabric really sets all the blocks off. I like your wide borders too. May consider adding one to mine. Did you wait until all the blocks were presented to do your quilt? I can't recall seeing your work earlier as I'm sure I would already be following you....
scol409 answered:
I didn't put my BOM squares on -- just some of my other projects I've done. I loved doing this class, didn't you? It was so much fun and I enjoy seeing other people's work, too. My living room is neutrals so this will go on my love seat where I always sit. I can't decide what to put on the back though. I live in Niagara Falls NY so I think something warm would be appropriate for our winters..... flannel, I am thinking. Thanks for the compliments! I am your fan, too!!
Julieannabell asked:
Gee your moving fast girl. That's two quilt tops in a couple of days. Great work. I am impressed. Do you have a large sewing room to be able to get the two lay out and done or do you have a small army behind you!!!!! Ha ha haaaaaaa! Love it anyway Julieannabell.

I am a grandma who remodeled entire basement to make a huge playroom for my grandkids --- so I commandeered a large corner for my sewing. The grandkids call it 'grandma's factory' and they know they can't touch anything. I keep my bins of material along one wall -- all 16 of them - with my material separated into colors or 'genres'.... I have a Christmas bin and a kid quilt bin. Next to my sewing machine in 'the factory', I have a set of shelves with smaller bins where I keep my current projects, my pre cut fabrics, panels and kits. It's not elaborate by any means but it's efficient!! asked:
Well anything chocolate has my approval:-) Love the colors and your 'factory'. I made my loft into 'gramma's factory' in my new home. It is 'MY' corner and I have all my stash, projects, machines, etc gathered there so I can just sit and sew whenever I like. It's been a life-long dream of mine to have this area and I do not let anyone touch 'my stuff':-) Love being retired!
