What are you most proud of? I did not have a design for the quilt and/or pattern for the quilt; found a basic 12 in block pattern; embroidered eight Aggie traditions, making the quilt truly personal for these two. This is the first time I have machine quilted a full size quilt. The look on their faces when they open up the quilt made all of the time and effort worthwhile. What advice would you give someone starting this project? " Plan, lay out your design, and your fabrics. Not having a pattern, I did a lot of " oh this would add to the quilt' moments. This is the first full size quilt I machine quilted. I have a Bernina 440QE; had to set up a card table and an additional side table to spread out the quilt. I did the block embroidery on the fabric and the batting only, waiting to add my backing before quilting the quilt.
