Project Description

What are you most proud of? I am proud that it actually resembles the original photo, and also that I did something in the background. I have done similar fiber art from a photo before, but never used colored pencils on it or filled in the background with quilting. What advice would you give someone starting this project? Just go for it! See it through to the end. At the very least, your creative aptitude will grow!

What you will need

  • cotton fabric
  • cotton thread
  • prisma color pencils
  • textile medium

Ilsa7337 asked:
i love it. was it hard? im a chicken to start! but i need to just start, right??!!!
sewlsista answered:
No, I don't think it was hard, but it did take a me just not worrying about it so much and seeing it through to the end. I have a tendency to question my own abilities when it comes to this sort of thing. I heard a great quote the other day: "Perfection is the enemy of greatness". Keep that in mind and just accept it as a learning experience. We are our own worst critics!
Lola Jenkins asked:
WOW! This is awesome. You have done a fabulous job. I am proud and you should be also. You have a treasured piece of artwork. I am so glad that you went for it. Way to go.
sewlsista answered:
Thank you Ms. Lola. That is especially great coming from you!
