The dove is a universal symbol of peace, hope and unity. Bring a touch of all three to your table with this quick and easy pattern from the Patchsmith. The Winter Dove mug rug pattern uses quick-fuse applique making it an easy mug rug to put together and suitable for all skill levels. The leaves allow for an endless choice of colour and pattern - you can make it modern, country, rustic or seasonal. This is a good 'all-rounder' pattern giving you the opportunity to play with fabric and have some fun. This pattern was designed initially for the Quilting Gallery mug rug swap 2014 to celebrate the Winter Olympics. But a dove isn't just for winter - they are welcome all year round. And the dove could become a blackbird or a bluebird through your choice of fabrics. Whatever the season or the bird, you will fly through the easy-to follow instructions and full size applique sheet. And when you've finished, you will have the perfect nesting place for your mug and cookie. This pattern is for personal use but permission is also granted to make this item to sell provided the item is handmade by you and you credit the Patchsmith for the design. No mass production allowed. SIZING / FINISHED MEASUREMENTS Size before quilting 9" x 6"

I am the Patchsmith. I patch, applique, sew and quilt. I have been creating a life of fabric, fun and friends for many, many years. I believe a pattern should be easy to follow, with clear diagrams and full-size templates. Value is also very important to me - both in terms of fabric wastage and to the buyer. Patchwork is about sharing and that is why all my patterns are priced for everybody to afford. To contact me visit my blog ( and click on 'About the Patchsmith' or email me at
