My daughter is a devoted preschool teacher and the name of her classroom is "The Penguin Room". She asked me if I could make an interactive weather chart to help facilitate the coordination, observation and manipulative skills of her little ones using buttons and buttonholes. I was delighted by her request and ready for a challenge! She had it only a short time before she told me that her students had so much fun with it that she needed holiday outfits too! The faculty and staff thought it was a wonderful classroom activity for circle time and everyone encouraged me to share this project. But don't limit yourself to a classroom setting! This would be fun to make for a child's room or play room! BASIC SKILLS NECESSARY A basic knowledge of quilting and sewing is all you need. This is a great project for anyone who loves detail work! SIZING / FINISHED MEASUREMENTS The finished size of the wall quilt is 34in. x 42in.

I have had a love for the arts since I can remember! As a child I spent hours drawing, delighted in taking dance lessons and studied piano and guitar. I majored in art in high school and then later again in college. Most recently, I had the honor and privilege of working as an in house artist for a private school and grew in ways I never expected! Having left the work world behind me, I am always on the hunt for a new adventure or learning experience. I am a self proclaimed jack of all trades and master of none. Nothing tickles me more than immersing myself in an artistic endeavor and getting completely lost in the journey. Whether I'm tinkering with my power tools, firing up my copper enameling kiln or raiding my quilting stash, my mind is always imaginating!
