I really enjoy making table runners. They're quick weekend projects that equally feed my love of design and my need to finish projects before starting other projects! When I went on my very first fabric shop hop, I won two fat quarters in a raffle from the very last shop we visited. As my fabric budget was already spent, I didn't pick up any coordinating pieces ... and the popular fabric line sold out before I remembered to look for them! These sat on my shelf for a couple of months until I was looking for a weekend project and decided to sit down and figure out how to make the biggest table topper -- including binding -- possible, using solely these two fat quarters. The finished piece measures 21.5" square. Welcome to Cora's Quilts on Craftsy! My name is Shelley: wife, mom, quilter, and designer from Sacramento, CA. I love designing quilting projects big and small, alike - my patterns are built upon classic quilt blocks and patterns, that have been updated for the contemporary sewer. I include directions for modern, simplified, time-saving cutting and piecing techniques, and some of my favorite building blocks are those fabulous pre-cut fabric bundles, like 5" Charm Packs and 10" Layer Cakes. The majority of my patterns are also scrap-bin friendly, so if you're looking to make a little bit of room in your stash, you've come to the right place! All my projects include clear, concise instructions accompanied by full-color illustrations and photos.
