When I first began designing this quilt, I was playing around with a quilt block called "Rocky Road to Dublin". There were some half square triangles that I decided to omit, and then when I drew up my modified block on graph paper I could see that it would be much easier to get the effect I wanted by framing Sawtooth Stars and four patch blocks with giant Flying Geese. So it's true what they say - it's a long way to Tipperary - especially if you take the Rocky Road to Dublin! This quilt looks more complicated than it is and by playing with the colours you could change the look completely. This quilt was featured in "Australian Patchwork and Quilting" Vol 21 No 11.
