I love pinwheels and wanted to make a quilt featuring pinwheels of differing sizes. Pinwheels add lots of fun movement to a quilt and this quilt is full of them! The pinwheels are pieced with two different quick-piecing methods and use pre-cuts for even faster results. A beginner can easily accomplish this quilt; however bias edges require some care in handling. This would be a great pattern for kids or babies. For an even faster tummy-time mat you could simply make a single quadrant. This pattern assumes that you know how to sew a 1/4" seam; that you know how to use a rotary cutter; that you know how to square up a block; and that you know how to make and attach binding. If not, there are great tutorials on all of these subjects freely available. This pattern contains instructions for the entire quilt top and includes diagrams and photos illustrating the fast-piecing techniques and block layout. BASIC SKILLS NECESSARY Sew a quarter inch seam Use a rotary cutter & ruler SIZING / FINISHED MEASUREMENTS 64" x 64"
