This small holiday table topper is made with only four fat quarters of fabric. The small piece of white fabric used in the 9-patch blocks is optional. The color combinations for this patterns are unlimited. Imagine patriotic red, white, and blue for July, playful kiddie prints for the nursery, or rich reds and golds for autumn. When I retired from a lifetime of teaching in 2007, I was worried that I'd quickly get bored. That concern didn't last long at all. I was thrilled to discover that there really is life outside of the classroom. I spend parts of most of my days indulging in my favorite hobbies of quilting and sewing. I started designing patterns as an experiment, and no one was more surprised than I was to find that other people liked my little designs. I'm a teacher at heart, so I do try to write my patterns in such a way that beginning quilters can follow them. I include lots of details, photos, and little informative notes. I make myself easily available to my customers, and I respond to all questions as quickly and as thoroughly as I can.
