Rambling Ways is a design I have been dreaming up for a while. I finally decided it was time to start pulling fabrics from my stash, deciding on a colour plan and having fun with applique. I would love you all to join me. The name for this quilt has come from Benny the Bengal. We inherited a beautiful Bengal cat called Benny. Anyone who has a Bengal cat knows that they love to have the freedom to play outside. Benny loves to roam the garden, climb the fences, chase and play with the other cats. ( even if the other cats are not interested in being chased ) He has a loving nature and has snuggled his way into my heart. Benny loves to help me quilt, so this quilt is for him. So moving on with the quilt along, the Rambling Ways quilt will have nine applique blocks, and at this stage a flying geese sashing. The outside border will be decided on after all the blocks are made. I will be making design decisions as I go along, and will encourage you to do the same as you are welcome to use the applique blocks in any layout you choose or use the same layout as I do. I have a basic plan for setting the blocks at this stage, as the quilt progresses I may make a few changes. I like to use my intuition as I progress through the quilt. While I am making the Rambling Ways quilt, my blog posts will have tutorials showing the techniques I use, talking about colour and fabric choices, making the circles, vines and applique techniques.
