Pattern Details

T-shirt quilts are so very personal. No other individual on earth has the exact same collection. The Radical T-Shirt Quilt is designed to be an extremely flexible pattern that allows you to customize your quilt to fit the size, shape and quantity of t-shirts in your collection. The background of the quilt is sewn first and the t-shirts are placed on top in any order and angle that you want. You can cut the shirts into any shapes you like, no rulesjust radical! To make this quilt even better, the applique and the quilting are done at the same time, to save you half the sewing of a traditional quilt. The binding of the quilt is easy, too, with the back of the quilt folded to the front and hand sewn. Every step in this quilt was planned to create the most beautiful quilt possible in the most efficient way possible. There are numbered steps and photographs to guide you. SIZING / FINISHED MEASUREMENTS Twin or full size approximately 77x 89 inches (1.94mx 2.29m)

Recommended with this pattern

  • 5 1/2 yards (5.03m) cotton or cotton flannel for the back and the binding of the quilt (I used a mottled red flannel to give extra softness)
  • 2 yards (1.83m) cotton fabric for one of the main colors on the quilt top. (I used solid green)
  • 2 yards (1.83m) cotton fabric for the other main color of the quilt top. (I used solid blue)
