Pattern Details

I designed this pattern to teach beginner quilters how to master various techniques in an order that built their skill level. I include lots of tips and pointers for more efficient and precise piecing. I also give some guidelines for fabric choices, as well as a coloring sheet to help you decide on your color layout! This quilt is a sampler quilt, but has an attractive design that makes it look more appealing than a quilt made with 25 random blocks. It is designed as a series of 12 lessons that take about 2 hours each to complete - when I teach this as a class there is some homework, but generally students are able to complete the majority of the lessons in the classroom. This pattern starts with basic quilting skills, and each week the student learns new skills that build on the old ones. As often as possible I present alternative techniques - for example, you can make half-square triangles in two different ways. You can machine applique or hand applique your dresden plates. Foundation piece or use templates for a triangle in a square unit. I believe choices empower quilters to create in a way that is comfortable as well as attractive. This quit is for anyone who would like to make an attractive queen size quilt, regardless of skill level! BASIC SKILLS NECESSARY Basic Sewing Skills SIZING / FINISHED MEASUREMENTS 92 x 92

I've been making things as long as I can remember, thanks to my Mom who is a great seamstress! From my start in quilting I have loved creating my own original designs, and I am glad for the opportunity to share them here with you! I especially love making patterns that are encouraging for beginner quilters - I try to make sure my directions are clear and well illustrated to take the frustration out of quilting and make it a joyful process. I'm always happy to answer questions and provide help if you have any problems, just let me know. Thanks so much for looking at my patterns!
