*** Note: This pattern is one of ten designs included in my Halloween and Thanksgiving Mug Rug Book. *** Take three items - a pumpkin, a crow and a star - all associated with country style in their own right but put them together and you create a picture of primitive, homely, simplicity. So it is with this mug rug design, inspired by rustic signs and decoration used throughout the years. Primitive design also reflects the 'make-do-and-mend' approach whereby scraps of fabric are turned into functional, decorative items for the home. This pattern embraces that approach, using little more than scraps of fabric to create the perfect Autumn resting place for your hot chocolate and ginger-snap cookie. What is more, this pattern includes the option to adjust the pumpkin segments to create a different style of pumpkin - perfect for a small coaster or an alternative mug rug. Constructed using quick fuse applique, the pattern includes full size applique sheet, colour diagrams and easy to follow instructions. So add a touch of primitive Autumn colour to your table today with the Patchsmith. This pattern is for personal use but permission is also granted to make this item to sell provided the item is handmade by you and you credit the Patchsmith for the design. No mass production allowed. SIZING / FINISHED MEASUREMENTS Size before quilting - 9" x 6"

I am the Patchsmith. I patch, applique, sew and quilt. I have been creating a life of fabric, fun and friends for many, many years. I believe a pattern should be easy to follow, with clear diagrams and full-size templates. Value is also very important to me - both in terms of fabric wastage and to the buyer. Patchwork is about sharing and that is why all my patterns are priced for everybody to afford. To contact me visit my blog ( and click on 'About the Patchsmith' or email me at
