This heart-felt mug rug embraces the patchwork tradition of using scraps of fabric to create a useful and decorative item for your home. Suitable for machine stitching and using little more than a few fabric strips you too can create the perfect mug rug for your desk or table. Alternatively this delightful mini quilt would make an ideal hostess gift or as a wall hanging in a sunny corner. The pattern comes with two options - a log-cabin heart or an Americana heart. (If you are new to patchwork then the log-cabin heart is very forgiving of uneven stitching and seams!) Both blocks would also work well as individual quilt blocks. The Americana heart mug rug is the perfect accompaniment to the Flag Holidays or as a gift for a father, son, soldier, teacher or teenager. The log-cabin heart can be made in reds and greens (as shown) for the Christmas table, in pinks and reds for a Valentine keepsake or from a mix of left-over binding scraps (as shown in the turquoise and red version). In fact, there are so many options with this lovely mini quilt that you will want to make several to give and to keep. And with the easy-to-follow instructions and colour diagrams you will love returning to this pattern time-and-time again. So add a little bit of heart to your home with another pattern from the Patchsmith. This pattern is for personal use but permission is also granted to make this item to sell provided the item is handmade by you and you credit the Patchsmith for the design. No mass production allowed. SIZING / FINISHED MEASUREMENTS Size before quilting: 8" x 8"

I am the Patchsmith. I patch, applique, sew and quilt. I have been creating a life of fabric, fun and friends for many, many years. I believe a pattern should be easy to follow, with clear diagrams and full-size templates. Value is also very important to me - both in terms of fabric wastage and to the buyer. Patchwork is about sharing and that is why all my patterns are priced for everybody to afford. To contact me visit my blog ( and click on 'About the Patchsmith' or email me at
