Pattern Details

FLYING GEESE blocks have never been so easy!! This is a great quilt pattern whether you're needing a twin or a queen size quilt. You make the flying geese in this quilt using the "Fast Flying Geese" method which makes 4 flying geese units at a time and with NO WASTE of fabric. This pattern goes together quickly and gives you a great looking quilt. By adding more or larger borders, it could easily be made into a King size quilt, too. Designed with beginners in mind, but unique enough for advanced quilters. This pattern started out as a Mystery Quilt, so you will find the step-by-step instructions VERY EASY to follow and understand with LOTS OF DIAGRAMS. In the cutting out process, we have you putting your parts into marked clear plastic bags, which greatly helps with keeping things organized. So whether you get the quilt finished this week or next month (or for some of us, perhaps next year), you will always be able to find your parts and pieces and get right back into the fun of completing this quilt top. BASIC SKILLS NECESSARY Sewing accurate 1/4" seams Rotary cutting skills SIZING / FINISHED MEASUREMENTS Twin: 72" x 80" (omit the two outer borders) Queen: 92" x 100" (shown)

Welcome to our pattern store. Theresa Ward and Sharon Lorfing have both been quilting for over 20 years. Theresa is an award winning long-arm quilter, author and teacher and Sharon has worked and taught in local quilt shops in the Kansas City area over the last 15 years. In 2002, they started hosting their annual Mystery Quilt Lock-in and started designing their own patterns for it. Theresa loves the designing process and does the majority of the design work while Sharon loves the math, writing and editing involved in publishing their patterns. Their patterns became so well liked that others were asking how they could purchase them.....hence the beginning of Quilt Patterns by Wing Designs. Sharon and Theresa are now publishing not only their past mystery quilt patterns, but also other original designs and offering them for sale through various venues. They also do workshops and lectures with trunk shows displaying their various patterns. Because many of their patterns are designed initially as Mystery Quilts, they look much more difficult than they really are -- just to keep the quilt maker in suspense!! But because they have quilters with all degrees of skill taking their classes, the patterns are written with easy to follow cutting and sewing instructions and lots of good diagrams so that even a first time quilt maker can follow them with success.
