I'm a brand new grandma and I designed this for my newest granddaughter. She has the most adorable nautically inspired baby room and I thought this would be a lovely touch. Luckily, my son and daughter-in-law agree! Although I used it on a baby quilt, it doesn't have to be limited to just that. It would look great on a pillow, pillowcase, apron, bag, purse, placemat.....anything really! If you're adventurous, working with Angelina Fibers is exciting and adds another dimension of texture and iridescence. Who doesn't want to be reminded of a summer sun shimmering on crests of playful waves?! Permission to come aboard and sail away with this pattern! BASIC SKILLS NECESSARY Basic sewing skills for applique and some experience with using fusible webbing is helpful but not necessary to set sail! SIZING / FINISHED MEASUREMENTS 18"h x 14"w

Supplies Needed

  • 1/2 yd fusible webbing, scraps and/or remnants of cotton fabrics, thread and Angelina Fibers (optional)
  • sewing machine, iron, silicone pressing cloth (optional), pencil for tracing patterns and acrylic paint and paint brush (optional)

I have had a love for the arts since I can remember! As a child I spent hours drawing, delighted in taking dance lessons and studied piano and guitar. I majored in art in high school and then later again in college. Most recently, I had the honor and privilege of working as an in house artist for a private school and grew in ways I never expected! Having left the work world behind me, I am always on the hunt for a new adventure or learning experience. I am a self proclaimed jack of all trades and master of none. Nothing tickles me more than immersing myself in an artistic endeavor and getting completely lost in the journey. Whether I'm tinkering with my power tools, firing up my copper enameling kiln or raiding my quilting stash, my mind is always imaginating!
