This is the fourth block in our new Block of the Month program called "New Beginnings"!! Make your blocks co-ordinated or scrappy, in batiks, brights or country colours. Our well written directions are easy to follow and at the end of the year we will offer two different quilt patterns to finish your twelve blocks into a bed quilt. Sew along with us and share a picture of your finished block on Craftsy to have your name entered into a draw for a complete quilt kit of one of our Northcott patterns. Designers and friends Christine Baker (Fairfield Road Designs) and Nellie Holmes (originellie's) publish books and patterns that they co-design under their joint company, Upper Canada Quiltworks Publishing Co. which . Their first book, Rag Bags©, released in May 2004, has been a huge hit. It features patterns for 12 different tote bags all made using the rag technique. Their second book Rag-a-Muffins©, was released in April 2005. It contains lots of projects to make for children such as rag quilts, fusible appliqué wall hangings and accessories. Their third book, Celebrate Canada©, released in August 2015 features quilts, wallhangings, tablerunners and placemats all made using the Oh Canada line of Fabric from Northcott Fabrics. They design patterns for magazines and for the new fabric lines released by Northcott fabrics and have self published over 50 jointly designed patterns!
