Pattern Details

This is a fun baby quilt made with two sizes of Monkey Wrench Blocks. I was inspired by the cute monkey fabric, but this quilt is a wonderful way to use any focal fabric combined with solids or tonal fabrics to make a small quilt for a child or infant. Fully illustrated with detailed instructions, this quilt is easy to make and a great way to use traditional blocks in a contemporary setting. The smaller blocks add wonderful detail, while the use of the larger blocks make the quilt go together quickly. The piecing in this quilt is easy enough for a beginner, and arranging the blocks in a pleasing manner is an enjoyable creative opportunity for any quilter. Definitely a quilt you can make over the weekend or in a couple evenings. BASIC SKILLS NECESSARY Rotary Cutting Sewing a 1/4 inch seam Working with half square triangles SIZING / FINISHED MEASUREMENTS 47 x 47

Recommended with this pattern

  • 1 Yard focal fabric
  • 1/3 yard each of four colors to coodinate with focal fabric
  • additional 2/3 yard of your favorite color for inner border and binding

I've been making things as long as I can remember, thanks to my Mom who is a great seamstress! From my start in quilting I have loved creating my own original designs, and I am glad for the opportunity to share them here with you! I especially love making patterns that are encouraging for beginner quilters - I try to make sure my directions are clear and well illustrated to take the frustration out of quilting and make it a joyful process. I'm always happy to answer questions and provide help if you have any problems, just let me know. Thanks so much for looking at my patterns!
