Baltimore Album quilts have enjoyed a revival in popularity in recent years and many quilters have fallen in love with the style. But they require a huge investment of time, materials, talent, and effort, and often they prove too precious to be used. If you want the look of an applique album without quite so much effort then maybe you could try a miniature quilt using blanket stitch applique. In this method the pieces are backed with a fusible web and ironed into place on the background square. The raw edges are closely covered with blanket stitch using a matching embroidery floss, giving a neat, decorative finish. Because no edges are turned under the pieces can be tiny and more details included. The pattern includes 30 5"patterns so you can choose from simple or more complex designs. Also included is a pdf of the patterns in a larger size. Instructions and diagrams are given for the embroidery stitches, and for assembling the blocks into a wallhanging. The quilting design is also included. BASIC SKILLS NECESSARY basic patchwork, beginner embroidery

Supplies Needed
