Pattern Details

"Mini Story Stars" was inspired by memories of my daughter when she was young and would line up all her dolls and stuffed animals to play school or have a tea party. A little quilt that told a little story would have been a welcome addition to her cozy classroom. "Mini Story Stars" is 27" x 27", making it the perfect size for a table topper, wall hanging or child's play quilt. The pattern purposely calls for only four fabrics for the top, allowing you to really focus your shopping on finding those two special fat quarters of feature fabric! The star points are made up of easy half square triangles that are sewn slightly oversize so you can trim them down, square them up, and create perfect piecing! Pattern samples feature these fabrics: Little Heroines - Little Red Riding Hood by Lecien Japan; Vintage Market by Tasha Noel for Riley Blake Designs; Garden Text by Holly Holderman for Lakehouse Dry Goods; Calico Days by Lori Holt for Riley Blake Designs BASIC SKILLS NECESSARY Basic cutting, sewing and pressing skills. SIZING / FINISHED MEASUREMENTS 27 by 27 inches

Carried Away Quilting
Carried Away Quilting
Taunja Kelvington began her quilting journey in 1992. After watching Eleanor Burns on PBS on Saturday mornings, Taunja made her first quilt, an “Around the World” quilt-in-a-day. Although that first quilt naturally took more than a day to complete and offered its share of challenges to a novice quilter, Taunja was hooked. Since then, she has made hundreds of quilts to give as gifts or add warmth and style to her home. In 2015 Taunja began her quilting blog, “Carried Away Quilting,” as an avenue to share her passion for quilting and connect with other quilters. Taunja’s blog posts weave personal reflections and stories together with the quilting project or technique being highlighted. Projects range from large quilts to mini quilts and runners, bags, pillows, and pouches. Fabric selection is typically in the modern vintage lines. Not long after launching her blog, Taunja began designing fresh, pleasing patterns that typically call for the use of fabric precuts. Taunja’s career background includes work in graphic design and technical writing. She lives in Minnesota, with her husband, Brad, who is a school superintendent. Taunja and Brad have two terrific kids, Luke and Haley, who are college students.
