I love curves and circles, but was always too intimidated to really try them. However, when I saw some text on a magazine cover, I couldn't stop thinking about making an entire alphabet. So I learned how to piece quarter-circles (aka Drunkard's Path blocks), and it was smooth sailing after that! Each letter is 4"x6", and is pieced using 2 1/2" roll-up strips for the color, and 3" strips for the background. You can easily increase the size of the template to make larger letters. You do NOT need a special foot for your sewing machine, and it isn't difficult to sew curves...you just sew a few stitches at a time. Easy peasy! This is a great pattern for making baby quilts, or personalizing a quilt for a new college student. Make the whole alphabet or just a name...it's up to you! Try it, I think you'll be hooked! **Please Note: This is a PDF pattern. Once you buy the pattern via PayPal, you'll be brought to a page where you can download it as a PDF file.
