I was reading in my bible one night, about Jesus feeding the five thousand - with only two fish and five loaves of bread. There were twelve baskets left over after everyone ate! While I was reading, a picture of this quilt popped into my head and I knew I had to make it. This will hang on my wall and be a wonderful reminder that my Lord will provide abundantly! This is a very simple quilt, just 16 squares and no borders. Fusible applique makes it fast. I stitched my appliques by hand, but you can use your machine to make it faster! I used all scraps for this quilt, the pieces are small, and the blocks are only 6 1/2" before trimming. The backing is the biggest piece! The scripture verse reference is hand embroidered, a very simple backstitch with two strands of floss. You could also choose to simply trace it on with a black Pigma pen. This little quilt finishes to 22" square.
