PATTERN DETAILS

During my first trip to New Zealand, I remember speaking to another traveller, she looked at me and said "have you had your fern day yet?" She went on to explain "everyone has at least a day or days that they get drawn into the beauty of the diverse fern plants that you find in New Zealand." She was right- I have had many fern days and I'm sure that there will be many more in my future! The fern Frond is known as a Koru in Maori. It is often used as a symbol of creation. The shape conveys perpetual movement and the inward coil suggests a return to the point of origin. Do you love paper piecing, but hate sewing the papers together at the end? If so then this is the pattern for you! There is a single paper base for this pattern. I have provided the block as 6 or 8 inch, but feel free to increase the size if you prefer. This is the second pattern in my series of New Zealand Plants and Flowers. BASIC SKILLS NECESSARY You should already know how to paper piece SIZING / FINISHED MEASUREMENTS This pattern makes a 6 or 8 inch block
