PATTERN DETAILS

The Konkret I cushion was inspired by the vanguard design concepts by the famous German Bauhaus architects and artists in Weimar, Dessau and Berlin between 1919 and 1933. The project needs 2 1/2 and 1 1/2" wide strips cut from black and grey solids plus two additional colours. The design was made from Lipari and Calluna fabrics by Oakshott Fabrics. The Callunas are reverse coloured shot herringbone weaves - which results in two colours and two usable sides: www.oakshottfabrics.com BASIC SKILLS NECESSARY basic rotary cutting working with templates making a (zippered) cushion/pillow SIZING / FINISHED MEASUREMENTS 16 by 24 (40 cm by 60 cm)

Quilt around the World
Quilt around the World
Jutta and Johann have been working together for over two years setting up the platform for their new independent and international online quilt magazine Quilt around the World (www.quilt-around-the-world.com). Johann concentrates mainly on the technical issues, but is very involved in the design process of every project Jutta tackles for Quilt around the World. Johann is Austrian and started quilting in 2010. In his spare time, he loves doing dangerous things: mountain climbing, skiing, hiking through the wilderness and motorcycling. Jutta is Bavarian and started quilting in 1996. When she isn’t quilting, she enjoys reading, going to the movies, swimming, travelling, or trying to keep up with Johann on almost vertical hiking trails or ski slopes in the Alps.
