Back when I started quilting in 2001, I started working with kaleidoscopes. I had one left as a UFO that I recently finished up as a mini quilt. Looking at it, I thought ... "This would be so easy to make if it was paper pieced!" I drew up a pattern, made another mini quilt in an afternoon. This pattern is paper pieced combined with traditional piecing, due to the need for some fussy cut sections. The pattern only includes the paper piecing segments and templates to be copied. First paper piece the right and left segments, trim, remove paper and then sew to fussy cut segments. The block came together so quickly, I have a number of other blocks drawn out and ready for testing. Stay tuned in! BASIC SKILLS NECESSARY sewing paper piecing fussy cutting SIZING / FINISHED MEASUREMENTS Hexagon is about 16" wide unfinished from flat sides.

I've dabbled in almost everything crafty. I spend most of my time with my girls, sewing garments and quilting. Pattern making, fabric designing, and painting are tops too. My favorite sources for inspiration are usually excessively colorful while being dark and subversive. However, I spend most of my time working on an exceedingly long laundry list of things that just pop up.
