Pattern Details

What a versatile pattern! Make it sweet with medium value reproduction fabrics and a white background, or bold with jewel tones and a gray or black background. The pattern includes a half-square triangle (hst) paper template that yields 8 hst's in a flash, enough for 2 pinwheels. Be organized with your pinwheel colors, or make every blade scrappy - you get to pick. I had read a fairly vague, verbal description of a quilt that had been successful as a guild fund-raiser, and this is what I think was being described. Our guild made this quilt as a group, with everyone digging in their stash for medium value, small print fabric, and using the template. So sweet.

Recommended with this pattern

My mother taught me to sew when I was 8 - doll clothes by hand, then she moved me on to her old Singer. But it was Home Ec in Jr. High where I discovered that sewing was my "thing.". Throughout the years, I sewed clothing and made pillows and curtains and stuff. But quilting? Just the thought of cutting a beautiful piece of fabric into little pieces and sewing them together again seemed a little crazy to me. But when my first great-niece was born, I made my first quilt for her and was hooked! As a new quilter, I couldn't find designs that were easy enough, so, I got design software and started tinkering. Now that I am retired, my life is all about my DH and quilting. Thanks to Craftsy, I am able to share my designs and patterns with you. In addition to quilt designing, I stay busy in my guild, and have a quilting business: Quiltniques! My beloved longarm is named Margie and she works hard.
