PATTERN DETAILS

The watering can block is the second block in "Home", a quilt along, block of the month, mystery quilt. There were two preferences for the positioning of the watering can in this block, so the pattern contains two versions of the block. The daffodils, butterflies, and watering are symbols of spring, which surely must arrive soon. The block doesn't have to be part of a quilt. With a pretty border around the block, it could easily be turned into a cheerful little wall hanging. The pattern includes detailed, illustrated instructions, full size templates for the applique pieces, and two full size layout plans. When I retired from a lifetime of teaching in 2007, I was worried that I'd quickly get bored. That concern didn't last long at all. I was thrilled to discover that there really is life outside of the classroom. I spend parts of most of my days indulging in my favorite hobbies of quilting and sewing. I started designing patterns as an experiment, and no one was more surprised than I was to find that other people liked my little designs. I'm a teacher at heart, so I do try to write my patterns in such a way that beginning quilters can follow them. I include lots of details, photos, and little informative notes. I make myself easily available to my customers, and I respond to all questions as quickly and as thoroughly as I can.
