Hi, I am Linda. I am a wife, mother of 3 grown boys, grandma to 4, right now (leaving the option of more to come I hope) mama to 1 Basset Hound (my quilting assistant) and design quilt patterns for my pattern company, Passion Star Designs. Like many quilters, I simply love quilting! Growing up I was surrounded by quilts. I don't really remember having blankets on the bed; it was always a quilt to curl up under. Almost every summer I would go visit my aunt and can remember the big quilt frame set up in her dining-living room with many ladies around it hand quilting quilts for the church. Little did I know at that time of my life that I would have the passion for quilting. I had other aunts that did other hand work, including my mother. I started out quilting in hoops, make quilted pumpkins to put candies in, which I still use, and did quilted folded stars. At that time I loved the hand quilting, never knowing that there was so much more to quilting. Rotary cutting, piecing, squaring up, quilting layers together into something I could once again curl up under? What was all of this? It all seems so funny now. That was the beginning of my quilting and soon had the desire to create my own designs. That happened most likely because I could never follow the exact pattern. My patterns come from real life moments. Each pattern will give a short intro as to how I was inspired, expressing memories and beliefs through my designs. Hopefully you will enjoy my designs! email:
