This is a cute little countdown calendar perfect for Halloween, but not so specific to the holiday that it couldn't be used for other dates. It could even be part of a classroom game or goal setter. (The number of days could be changed from a week to longer.) This pattern shows how to make a VERY simple batik block from washable school glue and brushed on color. It is so simple, children can do it! (If you want, though, you can simply embroider the webs or use a fabric with a web design.) The little child figure at the bottom is sewn and lightly stuffed for a 3-D look that children will love! The spider shown is a feather embellishment sold for the purpose of making a hair clip, but a pattern for a felt spider is given. You could even use a plastic spider if you want!! The spider is moveable because it sticks on with hook and loop tape. You can easily change the color scheme to something less "Halloween" if desired. Children love this little wall hanging! Give it a try! It can be made in a weekend. SIZING / FINISHED MEASUREMENTS approximately 21" x 36"
